A collection of the occupations or job descriptions of the people living in London in the 1890's. Most of the descriptions are fairly self explanatory, I'll elaborate on the ones that aren't in due course.
| Yard Labourer | Someone who works in a yard. |
| Yardman | Rail road yard worker, or a farm worker. |
| Yatman | A gate keeper. |
| Yearman | Someone contracted to work for a year. |
| Yeoman | A farmer who owns his own land; a freeholder, the next class down from gentry, or an assistant to an official, or a ships officer in charge of stores. |
